Check out macgregorsailors.com Many threads on the topic
When I redo mine I think I will go with a single bank of 2 6v golf cart batteries. Really don’t need a dedicated starting bank. Carry a small booster pack just in case
Yup. Got the pictures to prove it.

If you have the gin pole, just convert it to new style raising system by getting the proper brake winch . Also available from BWY. Brake Winch
I tie the furler along the mast for travel. I made a support from ABS pipe for the couple feet that extend forward of the bow, as well as a support that goes in the mast base fitting and supports the mast so it doesn’t bounce
My guides are short. They seem to work fine. Last time loading I tried the trick of using a rope from the rear guides to the winch post on the trailer. Really did help guide it in on the trailer.
Welcome aboard.
Always a tough decision. I think I would be inclined to cut my loses and upgrade. Sell what you have for parts or a project. Have a look at Yamaha too. The F70 is only 253 lbs
It has to be from trailering. We did hit some pretty rough road work on the way. I am going to add another set of bunks to the trailer.

5. New instrument podHere is the progress of the instrument pod so far. Picked a used Navpod up off of Ebay and made a new face for it.
There are a view topics over on macgregorsailors.com where guys have used the tiller version. I didn’t like the fact that you had leave it connected or go below to disconnect it. If I find the finger space on the wheel too small I will either go with a bigger wheel or use spacers on the doughnut.
Well I pulled the trigger on an autopilot. Went with the EV-100 wheel version. Just couldn’t justify the extra for the sport drive. Binnacle.ca has the wheel version on sale right now for $1429 and it has a $100 mail in rebate. Sounds like once the existing stock is gone there will be a price increase due to the dollar sucking. Looking forward now to trying it at the BWY rendezvous/Poets/Friday Harbour cruise.
And what is the noise level from the drive unit like?
Gemini, the Sport Pilot comes with the rotary control head. How do you find it? Does it have a tack feature?
Haha, I think I tripped on one of the Freddy Flintstone sized jib sheets that this boat had. Rex had taken possession of the boat 1 week earlier and has some rigging work to do. No risk of falling thou.
Thanks for the congrats.
Try this again
